Welcome

This conference brings together researchers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and practitioners to explore one central question: How can we create, measure, and share value in ways that truly serve people, organizations, and society? Hosted by the Value Research Center at Doshisha University, the 2026 conference also welcomes the 9th Global Conference on Creating Value, organized by the Creating Value Alliance. Together, the two events offer a two-and-a-half-day programme focused on the future of value creation, from practical business applications to new ways of understanding long-term impact.

About the conference

Building on the success of the 2025 Valuism Conference in Kyoto, which gathered more than 100 participants from around the world, the 2026 edition expands the conversation across cultures, sectors, and knowledge systems. Through collaboration with RMIT University in Melbourne, the programme connects Valuism to Australia-Japan innovation and marks the 50th Anniversary of the Australia-Japan Basic Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation. With a dedicated contribution from the University of Auckland on Indigenous value systems and the Māori Economy of Mana, the conference invites participants to rethink value through Western stakeholder thinking, Japanese traditions such as sanpo yoshi, and Indigenous approaches to multi-generational, ecologically grounded value creation.
