VALUISM CONFERENCE 2025

Developing a Common Language

for creating sustainable, long-term value

Doshisha University, Kyoto

August 28–29
2025

Join leading thinkers, researchers, business leaders, and students as we explore Valuism; a new framework for creating, measuring, and sustaining value in society. Through panels, workshops, and interdisciplinary dialogue, this two-day international conference will unpack how intangible assets, circularity, governance, and technology can drive a values-based future.

About the conference

The Value Research Center at Doshisha University is proud to announce the first Valuism Conference in Kyoto, Japan, on August 28-29, 2025. The conference is a pioneering initiative dedicated to discussing “valuism” as a new framework for addressing the interconnected and global challenges of sustainability, ESG, value creation, and resilience in the 21st century. There is a pressing need to harmonize the numerous objectives, targets and approaches developed over the past few decades to securing the planet’s sustainable future, and developing a common lexicon among all stakeholders, especially between the public and private sectors, is a priority to this end.

Through a series of thought-provoking and interactive panels led by cutting edge experts and thought leaders from academia, industry and policymaking, the conference will be addressing diverse themes, from the philosophical underpinnings of “valuism”, the transformative potential of intangible assets, the role of technology in sustainable practices, and the evolving landscape of global governance and public policy. The dialogue extends across global perspectives and aims to inspire new ways of thinking and acting.
